Hillingdon Library Loan
Posted or Updated on 18 Nov 2024
We are excited to introduce the Hillingdon Library Loan Scheme, a community-based service that provides free access to blood pressure monitors, helping residents easily manage their cardiovascular health at home.
What is the Library Loan Scheme?
This initiative allows Hillingdon residents to borrow blood pressure monitors from local libraries for up to 14 days. Patients can monitor their blood pressure at home, with the data analysed to offer tailored health advice, supporting early detection and management of hypertension. For those seeking a quick check, we also have standalone blood pressure machines available in select libraries for a one-off reading.
Who Can Use the Service?
Eligible users include:
- Hillingdon-registered patients
- Hillingdon Library members
- Adults 18+ years old
(Note: Patients from Church Road Surgery and West London Medical Centre are not eligible.)
Where Can You Borrow Monitors?
We’re now in the following libraries:
- Uxbridge Library
- Botwell Green Library
- Ruislip Manor Library
New Locations!
We are pleased to announce the addition of Harefield Library, West Drayton Library, and Hayes Library to the scheme, making it even more accessible for residents across the borough.
Why It Matters
High blood pressure is a leading cause of heart disease, but it often goes unnoticed. By using this service, patients can monitor their health early and take proactive steps to prevent serious conditions like heart attacks and strokes.
